The referendum was held today for the purchase of the new Swiss fighters with the AIR2030 program (see which).
He won, with the 50,1% preferences, YES. The difference in grades is very small: about 8700 preferences!
8 cantons (practically all of French-speaking Switzerland plus Ticino), they said NO.
It therefore waits for the 2021 the choice of the finalist: the fighter aircraft that will equip the Swiss Air Force since 2025 on.
Just to know (and for what it may matter) I would prefer the F. 35 but I believe that, at the end, the F / A 18E Super Hornet will be chosen. We will see…..
