2010 – 6 August 2010
This year, the TAE 2010 (Air Force Summer Away) we spend in Hungary, for the first time beyond that which, once, era la Cortina di Ferro. It will be a feast of aircraft ever seen. The welcome at the airport in Badapest is not the best: a true tropical typhoon unleashed as soon as the plane landed and entered in the terminal. When we go out everything is flooded and for this reason we get hold of the rental car with a little delay.
We decide that it's too late to go to see the arrivals and hijacked the Hungarian Air Force Museum. The location is not really easy to say but not do anything, so we do not find anyone who speaks English, let alone Italian. Eventually we get to come to know a friendly non-commissioned officer that the museum is closing. This let us do at least one lap and he agrees.
In many airplanes, almost all military, of both sides. Some foreign aviation as a gift and Lansen Viggen Swedish, Hunter svizzero, CF 104 Turkish F 104G and Tedesco. Another interesting piece is truly an Antonov 24 transport with the joists in the fuselage to carry bombs. I found out later that can be hooked up to 4 bombe da 500 Kg !!!
The museum has a very interesting site that can be reached at http://www.repulomuzeum.hu/ENGLISH.htm. In addition to the http://album.reality.hu/panos/szolnok/ you can see some interesting photos of the virtual cockpit.
Exit, After almost an hour of ride, NCO, Instead of getting angry, gives us the gift of a book with pictures of the commitments of the Armed Forces Hungarians abroad: a touch of kindness really much appreciated.
To you photos
