20 June 2007 – Neuburg airfield
We start today at a time of Lechfeld where tomorrow will take the Elite 2007. Always the same 4 gatti: I, Andrea, Pierpaolo and Pierandrea. Route to the North. The weather is favorable and to take advantage of the TAE (Air Force Summer Away) until the last minute, we decide to make a jump in Neuburg, sede del Jagdgeschwader 74.
The flock is equipped with the venerable F 4F Phantom but it is in the process of converting the Eurofighter and we hope to resume them both.
Arrived on the runway 27 we note that we are not alone in having had the idea: the gathering is for special occasions. There are people from all over Europe. Fortunately the activity is intense and taxiing, takeoffs and landings are followed. The fence, in proximity to the head, It is lower, and take the opportunity to make some shots without the net in the middle. Immediately get the guards to move away, gently but firmly, and we can not do anything but obey.
The sun is felt but the location is favorable and we take F 4 e EF 2000 from all angles. Even we in the places where shooting are taken off the latest security plugs. The Phantom taxiing remain some very interesting prey, especially when they open canopy. An infinite charm for over 50 age !!!
