21 June 2007 – Lechfeld AB
Today will be held on the basis of Lechfeld, sede del Jagdbombergeschwader 32 Luftwaffe, edition 2007 dell’Elite, the now-classic NATO exercise devoted to the structure of electronic warfare.
The weather, for June, is not that good. Dense clouds pile up low in the sky. The organization is Teutonic, always eats, the highest level. Some coaches carry the spotter in areas which are delimited inside the airport at strategic locations to film takeoffs and landings. We note, however, that there is little movement: Jupiter Pluvio begins to dictate the timing.
Luckily the command of the base, it is impossible to perform takeoffs, organized in a jiffy a tour along the lines of flight with planes parked: is a good opportunity to take the planes to parking.
Take us back after visiting all the lines and, just arrived on the flight line we are caught by a roar worthy of a tropical monsoon: Luckily, we were still on the bus.
Half an hour later we begin to hear the cranking noise and a few Tornadoes from all three nations using it in this year's ELITE begin to appear: Germany (of course, cghe we saw at their home), England and Italy. Takeoffs are pretty aggressive, with extensive use of afterburner and beautiful bass.
Unfortunately no other arrangement has been made to see during the remaining time. The day had now passed and we could not even see the falls. However a great opportunity and a perfect organization, also able to change depending on the weather.
